TOMALES, CA

In
September of 2002 we moved to the historic little town of Tomales,
California. Our house is one of 6 remaining, original
buildings dating back to the 1860's. The local general store sells funny old black and white photo postcards
of the town a hundred years ago.. and there is our house, smack in the
middle of it!

At some
point they took off the western front and
as you can see in the above
photo we have put it back on. We have indoor
plumbing and a new kitchen, but otherwise it's much like it was. The
previous owner was actually a blacksmith! The front room used to be
the town bakery and in the backyard there is a cottage that used to
house the old ovens. There is even a water tower. And the old tin barn...
that's my studio!
